The program provides a great opportunity to learn about the actuarial profession from real, working actuaries on top of the standard learning process for the degree and actuarial exams. Students should take full advantage of having experienced actuaries leading the courses and take any opportunities they can to learn and connect with them.
Martin Chi (MET’12)
Actuarial Analyst, Towers Watson
Just over one year ago, I had no relevant actuarial work experience. I had independently studied for and passed two actuarial exams, but that was not sufficient to obtain an entry level actuarial role in a highly competitive market. Thanks in large part to Boston University’s actuarial science program, today I am working toward my fourth actuarial exam, and I have recently started my second actuarial co-op at John Hancock.
